Anton’s Festival Scaffolding Work at Download

Definitely our Director's favourite job of the year..

We are thrilled to share our experience in festival scaffolding with our recent work at the iconic Download Festival at Donnington Park, Derbyshire. This event is not only a highlight for our director but also a testament to our team’s dedication and expertise in providing scaffolding services for festivals and large-scale events.

What is Download Festival?

Download Festival is one of the UK’s premier rock and metal music festivals, held annually at Donnington Park. Since its inception in 2003, the festival has grown in popularity, attracting music fans from all over the world. Each year, it hosts an impressive lineup of bands, drawing in crowds in excess of 100,000. The festival has seen performances from legendary bands such as Metallica, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, and Guns N’ Roses, and is a must-attend event for rock and metal enthusiasts.

Festival Scaffolding for Download 2024

This year marked our second consecutive year providing essential scaffolding services at Download Festival. Our responsibilities included erecting supports for the bar area, constructing access stairs, and setting up signage structures. These installations are crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and safety of the festival, allowing attendees to enjoy the event to the fullest.

Overcoming Challenges: The Muddy Conditions

Festival scaffolding can be challenging, andthis years’ Download Festival posed unique challenges due to the significant amount of rain leading up to the event. The muddy conditions made the terrain difficult to navigate, complicating the installation process. However, the Anton Scaffolding team rose to the occasion, demonstrating our commitment to safety and efficiency. We meticulously planned our approach, ensuring that the Anton team securely installed all structures, despite the adverse conditions. Our team’s expertise and dedication were pivotal in overcoming these challenges, ensuring a successful and safe setup.

Once we completed our work, the team had the opportunity to enjoy the festival itself over the three days. We particularly enjoyed Queens of the Stone Age, Royal Blood, and Limp Bizkit. It was a rewarding experience to see the structures we had built in use and to witness the joy and excitement of the attendees. Download Festival is not just another job for us; it’s an event we look forward to being part of every year.
